Martí Plata Rum is the lightest expression from Martí Auténtico, a Panamanian rum made from estate-grown sugarcane raised on farmland in the province of Herrera, on the Azuero Peninsula. Despite being the brand's clear rum, the Plata is not unaged: it spends three years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, like the Dorado, and is bottled at 40% ABV. That time in wood gives it more texture and depth than most white rums while keeping it bright enough for fresh citrus cocktails. It is also a dry rum, with less than five grams of total sugar per liter, so it behaves the way classic recipes expect and doesn't make a Daiquiri cloying.
