Oka Japanese Gin comes from Tsutsumi Distillery on the island of Kyushu, a shochu house that builds this gin on a base of 100% rice, pot-distilled six times. Two contrasting junipers, bright Macedonian and earthy Himalayan, anchor the recipe alongside fresh ginger, orris root and rotating seasonal Japanese citrus such as yuzu, sudachi and Satsuma mandarin. It is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) in a generous 900ml bottle.
The aroma bursts with yuzu, orange oil, pine and a hint of sansho peppercorn, and the palate balances spicy ginger, piney juniper and vibrant citrus zest with a subtle sweet-rice undertone before a clean, herbaceous finish of lingering citrus and gentle warmth.
