Exotico Blanco Tequila
Exotico is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila made by the Gonzalez family in Jalisco and brought to the United States by Luxco. Its agave comes from both the highlands and the lowlands of Jalisco, which lets the blend draw on two different growing regions, and the tequila is produced under NOM 1603 in Los Altos, double distilled, and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). The blanco is bottled unaged, straight from the still. The brand describes a crisp, herbal aroma with spicy undertones and a robust taste of fresh agave with hints of pepper. Exotico has built its reputation on value, and reviewers consistently single it out as an excellent value for the cost, with most recommending it first and foremost for cocktails. That is exactly where it shines. Use it as the house tequila for margaritas, Palomas with fresh grapefruit and a salted rim, Ranch Waters with Topo Chico and lime, or batch cocktails for a party, where a 100% agave base makes a real difference over a mixto without pushing the budget.
