Description: Embark on a journey of refined sophistication with Tepozán Añejo Tequila, meticulously crafted by Maestro Tequilero Carlos Padilla at the esteemed Tepozán distillery (NOM 1584) in the heart of Jalisco, Mexico. This exquisite añejo tequila is a testament to the artistry and dedication that goes into every step of its production.
Made exclusively from 100% Blue Weber agave (A. tequilana), Tepozán Añejo Tequila captures the essence of the agave plant in all its glory. The journey begins with the careful selection of the finest agave, which is then cooked for two days in a traditional stone and brick oven. This slow and deliberate cooking process allows the agave's flavors to develop and intensify.
After cooking, the agave hearts are milled using a mechanical roller mill, ensuring the perfect extraction of flavors. The resulting agave juice is then fermented in stainless steel tanks, where the natural sugars transform into the complex flavors that define Tepozán Añejo.
The tequila undergoes a meticulous double distillation process using state-of-the-art stainless steel pot stills, preserving the purity and character of the agave. This careful distillation captures the vibrant essence of the raw ingredient, setting the stage for the aging process to come.
Tepozán Añejo Tequila rests patiently for a minimum of 14 months in ex-bourbon barrels, allowing the tequila to develop a remarkable depth of character and complexity. During this aging period, the tequila gracefully walks the line between the vibrance of its raw ingredient and the weight of the aging barrels. The result is a tequila that harmoniously balances the rich flavors of its aging with the vibrancy of its agave roots.
