The Bitter Truth Golden Falernum is a rum-based falernum liqueur from The Bitter Truth, the Munich company founded in 2006 by bartenders Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck and famed for its classic cocktail bitters. Falernum is the Caribbean lime, spice and almond liqueur at the heart of tiki, and this version is rich and complex in flavor.
The nose is spicy ginger with clove and a hint of vanilla, and the palate shows subtler ginger followed by almond and vanilla, an allspice tingle on the tongue and a long finish with a zest of lime. Use it in a Corn 'n' Oil, Zombie, Royal Bermuda Yacht Club or rum swizzle.
