Château de Lacquy 1990 Vintage Bas-Armagnac is a single-harvest brandy from the oldest family-owned estate in Armagnac, hand-crafting brandy since 1711. The vines grow on the light, tawny sand with clay and shell sediment that defines the Landes portion of the Bas-Armagnac, and the 1990 vintage was aged for three decades in French oak with no coloring, sugar or caramel.
Thirty years in the barrel bring dried apricot, prune and orange peel, honeyed spice, toasted oak and a fine, nutty rancio, in a round, elegant palate with a very long finish. Each Lacquy vintage has its own personality, and 1990 is a rich, generous one. Serve it neat in a tulip glass.
