Château de Lacquy Hors d'Age Bas-Armagnac is the aged blend from the oldest family-owned Armagnac estate, producing since 1711 in the Landes, the sandy western heart of the Bas-Armagnac. Hors d'Age means every brandy in the blend has spent at least ten years in oak, and Lacquy ages in French oak with no coloring, sugar or caramel added.
The house style is elegance and finesse: dried fruit, orange peel and vanilla on the nose, a round, smooth palate of toffee, gentle spice and toasted oak, and a long, aromatic finish with a touch of rancio. It is a wonderful after-dinner sipper and, at this price, a brandy you can also stir into an Armagnac Old Fashioned without guilt.
