Rinomato L'Aperitivo Deciso is a bitter Italian aperitivo in the Americano rosso tradition, created as a collaboration between the Italian bartender Giancarlo Mancino and his American partner Fasel Shenstone, and produced in Piedmont by La Canellese, a long-established vermouth and liqueur house. Deciso means decisive: a red bitter built to stand in for Campari-style aperitivi with more botanical depth. The recipe is built on bitter orange peel, gentian root, cinchona bark, rhubarb and several varieties of wormwood, with supporting botanicals that include peppermint, chiretta, myrrh, turmeric root, clove, angelica, vanilla and licorice, bottled at a low 14% ABV in a one-liter bottle, so it drinks more like a bitter vermouth than a spirit. The producer's own notes describe rich aromas of orange peel, vanilla, gentian, cinchona and wormwood, an initial sweetness that carries those aromas into a long, steadily intensifying bitter finish held in balance by texture and spice.
