Pampleau Vin de Pamplemousse is a 750ml grapefruit aperitif wine made in Portland, Oregon, inspired by the traditional French vin de pamplemousse, a white wine infused with citrus and vanilla. It starts with Sauvignon Blanc, fortified and aged with hand-cut grapefruit and other seasonal citrus for up to six weeks.
The wine is then infused with botanicals from the Pacific Northwest and beyond, including Tahitian vanilla, chamomile and gentian. It has a sweet, grassy scent, a bittersweet, juicy, pithy flavor and a long herbal finish. Serve it chilled or over ice, in a spritz, or as a lighter stand-in for grapefruit liqueur in a paloma.
