R. Jelínek Fernet is a Czech herbal digestif from R. Jelínek of Vizovice in Moravia, the family distillery famous for slivovitz since 1894. It was created in the latter part of the 19th century, during the Habsburg era, in the region near the famous spa town of Luhačovice.
Rich in anise flavors with a strong herbal character and a bittersweet finish, it is a softer, more approachable take on fernet than the Italian style. Enjoy it after a meal, pair it with coffee or espresso, or serve it over ice with tonic the Czech way.
