Description: This is the first of nine high ester blended rums crafted in response to the growing demand for the lesser-known marques from Diamond Distillery's fourteen operating stills. The El Dorado High Ester Blend combines two marques: the Diamond High Ester (DHE) marque and the inherited La Bonne Intention (LBI) marque. For rum enthusiasts, the DHE marque is distilled in Diamond Distillery's John Dore double retort copper pot still from a wash fermented over several months, resulting in final ester levels exceeding 1,500 g/hL AA (grams per hectoliter of absolute alcohol). Anticipate a concentration of rich fruit and confectionery notes rather than gamey hogo.

Great Service, unique Rum!

As of Oct 2024, LBI/DHE is a hard El Dorado to find, not only did Chips have it, but they shipped it to me with incredible speed. Great thanks to Chips for speedy service. El Dorado's LBI/DHE is a super unique addition to any ED collection. A nose of vanilla tootsie Roll candy, a palette of toasted caramel with a flavor-packed burn, and the signature ED coffee-like dry finish. It's fun to try a high-octane El Dorado, and see what the distillery is capable of doing when pushed into the 50+ abv zone.
