It's made from molasses fermented roughly 36 hours in open tanks, distilled on the distillery's Coffey column still, and aged around two to three years in ex-bourbon barrels, bottled at 40% ABV. The distillery describes light butterscotch aromas and a candied-fruit nose, opening soft with rich raisin, honey, and vanilla spice from the oak, then a medium body of ripe sultana and gentle spice, balanced and clean. The Fat Rum Pirate found it light and floral with vanilla, coconut, and orgeat, and noted it really comes alive when mixed — a nice fruity kick with mixers, surprisingly smooth, and it mellows out cola into a genuinely good long drink, staying clearly on the side of pure rum rather than the sugary spiced end.
