Tastings.com scored it 93 points. A bacoo, in Dominican folklore, is a genie-like spirit that lives in bottles and grants wishes, and the Wish Series is the brand's premium line named for it. This inaugural release starts with an 11-year-old rum — estate-grown, fresh-pressed Dominican sugarcane, distilled in the Spanish column-still tradition at Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos in San Pedro de Macorís and aged in ex-bourbon barrels in the tropical climate — then finishes a full 14 months in select tequila casks, a genuine fusion of Caribbean tradition and Mexican craftsmanship. Bottled at 80 proof in a 700ml bottle. Expect a brilliant medium-brown pour with an intense nose of marzipan, almond, and crème brûlée over caramel, raisin, vanilla bean, and mocha, opening into a cocoa-centered palate of coffee, sea salt, apricot pit, and a subtle agave note from the tequila wood, finishing long and dry with a whisper of vegetal warmth.
