Diamond Reserve White Rum

Diamond Reserve White is the Demerara mixing rum — light, clean, and from the only distillery in Guyana. Demerara Distillers Limited runs it at Plantation Diamond on the east bank of the Demerara River, where it consolidated all the country's historic stills and makes El Dorado; Diamond Reserve is its entry-level range, sold under the Demerara Rum geographical indication. The White is molasses rum from the French Savalle four-column still, aged briefly in oak and charcoal-filtered to clear, bottled at 40% ABV. DDL's notes: a delicate light rum alive with crisp notes and a slight hint of creaminess. The Lone Caner, reviewing the range, found the Diamond white nowhere near as throwaway-cheap as most brands at the price — clean aromas of nuts, almond, flowers, strawberry, vanilla, and coconut shavings once the heat blows off.
