Camus XO Elegance Cognac is the XO of the house style from Camus, the largest independent family-owned cognac house, founded in 1863 and now run by the fifth generation. Blended from well-aged eaux-de-vie with a strong contribution from the floral Borderies cru where the family owns its vineyards, it is aged in fine-grain French oak with a light toast to keep the fruit fresh, and bottled at 40% ABV.
It pours a deep, rich amber. The nose is delicate florals with luscious dried fruit, vanilla and oak. The palate is refined and layered, with ripe apricot, caramel and toasted almond in a velvety texture, and the finish is long and graceful. It is a cognac for neat sipping after dinner, and a fine companion to dark chocolate.
