Bache-Gabrielsen VSOP Cognac Triple Cask is a VSOP from the Norwegian-founded, family-run cognac house established in 1905. As the name says, it is matured in three different casks, drawing vanilla, dried fruit and spice from each, and bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml bottle.
The nose is vanilla and ripe fruit with hints of dried apricot and almond. The palate layers vanilla sweetness, a sherry-like richness and subtle oak, with caramel and dried fruit giving it a rounded, well-balanced character. The finish is long and warm. It sips well neat and makes a polished Sidecar or a cognac Old Fashioned.
