Le Réviseur XO Cognac is the top of the single-estate Petite Champagne range from Le Réviseur, a family property where grape growing, distillation and aging all happen on site. The XO blends long-aged eaux-de-vie from the estate's cellars and is bottled at 40% ABV.
It pours a deep amber. The nose opens with soft oak and vanilla, then develops a very elegant rancio with delicious dried fruit and nut aromas: fig, walnut, candied orange. The palate is soft and lingering with licorice, dried fruit and that mature, nutty rancio carrying through a long finish. It is a cognac for slow neat sipping after dinner.
