Grand Marnier Cuvée du Centenaire was created in 1927 to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the house of Marnier-Lapostolle, and it remains the connoisseur's Grand Marnier. Where the classic Cordon Rouge uses VS-grade cognac, the Centenaire is built on XO cognacs from the finest crus, aged up to 25 years, blended with the house's bitter orange essence and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
It is fresh, lively and delectable, with lovely orange notes followed by fruity, floral and heavier notes of almond and vanilla from the old cognac. The texture is silky, the finish long and elegant. It is meant to be sipped neat or over a single cube like a fine cognac, and it makes the most luxurious Grand Margarita or Sidecar imaginable.
