Camus XO Borderies Single Estate Cognac is the aged expression of Camus's Borderies estate, the family's 188-hectare holding in the smallest and oldest cru of the Cognac region. The Borderies' clay-limestone-and-flint soils are famous for producing cognac with a signature violet and floral character, and this XO blends well-aged eaux-de-vie from those vineyards alone. It is bottled at 40% ABV.
It shows a captivating amber with golden hints. The nose is delicate violet and wildflower entwined with candied fruit, vanilla and oak. The palate is luxurious and velvety, with ripe apricot, honeyed florals and a subtle underpinning of roasted nuts, and the finish lingers long and elegantly. It is a cognac to savor neat in a tulip glass.
