Scotch whisky is spelled without the “e” and is a malt or grain whisky that is made in Scotland. An easy way to remember whether the spelling of whiskey has the “e” or not is to see which country it was from. If the country’s name has an “e” in it, the spelling of whiskey will also include an “e”. Scotch is aged for at least three years in oak barrels then distilled twice and is identified by the region where it was produced.
