Archipelago — ARC for short — is the Philippines' first craft gin, made by Full Circle Craft Distillers in Manila, and its whole premise is terroir in a country of 7,000 islands that had never put its own botanicals in a bottle. The flagship ARC Botanical Gin is built from 28 botanicals, 22 of them sourced and foraged across the Philippines: fresh pomelo, dalandan, calamansi, and dayap for a citrus signature no European gin can copy, Benguet pine from the Cordillera highlands, fresh mango, and the native flowers sampaguita, ylang-ylang, and kamia, all anchored on juniper and a base of whole-kernel French winter wheat grown in the Champagne region. Wine Enthusiast's blind panel gave it 92 points, finding bold cardamom and anise, a hint of gingerbread, a floral mid-palate, and pine and licorice on the exhale. The range builds from there. Navy Strength pushes the same recipe to 58% for cocktail work. Black Bamboo is a world first, distilled with organic Japanese black bamboo grown on the founding family's own farm — earthy, grassy, spicy with cardamom — and a Gold winner at the 2023 Asian Spirits Masters. Barrel Reserve rests the gin in oak; Lava Rock Vodka, filtered through volcanic rock, earned 93 points from Wine Enthusiast, the highest score in the line.
