Chica-Chida is the peanut butter agave spirit that came out of Tequila, Jalisco, in 2024, created by Piermont Brands with Barstool Sports comedian Caleb Pressley after industry veteran Brian Axelrod put a sample in front of him. The idea is simple: take a Mexican espadín agave spirit, blend it with an allergen-free peanut butter extract, and bottle it at 64 proof as the shot people actually want to take twice.

Made in Jalisco and sold in a tall bottle with a hand-drawn label and the brand's motto, respect la hora mera, it sits somewhere between a flavored tequila and a dessert liqueur: the agave keeps it from being cloying, the peanut butter makes it taste like a candy bar, and the lower proof makes it dangerously easy. It took off in Florida and South Carolina first and is spreading through Southern Glazer's markets, with California among the newest.
