Club Kokomo was founded by Mike Love — singer, songwriter, and co-founder of The Beach Boys — along with his wife Jacquelyne and son Brian, and the name comes exactly where you'd think. But the liquid is serious: the spirits are made in San Diego at Seven Caves, the acclaimed grain-to-glass craft distillery Club Kokomo took majority ownership of, with Seven Caves founder Geoff Longenecker serving as master distiller across both brands. The whole line is additive-free, which the brand is vocal about — no sugar, flavoring, or coloring added after distillation, in a category where that's still the exception. The Artisanal White blends Demerara cane sugar rum distilled on site with traditional Jamaican pot still rum, showing honey, pineapple, melon, and mango, and took Silver at the Bartender Spirits Awards. The Barrel Finished is the flagship: a proprietary blend of 8 and 10 year old Jamaican, Barbadian, and Dominican rums aged in new oak, ex-whiskey, and port casks, then finished in hand-selected bourbon barrels for vanilla, caramel, and stone fruit. There's also a Tahitian Vanilla expression, plus a line of ready-to-drink canned cocktails at 10% ABV — including the Kokomojito, built on lemongrass-infused rum, real lime, and natural mint.
