Emerald Spear is a veteran-owned tequila brand conceived on the military golf course at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, California, by three active-duty Navy SEALs and their partner Sean Volmer, later joined by Army veteran Nick Betts. The name pairs Coronado's Emerald Isle nickname with the trident of the SEAL insignia, the label carries a topographic map of the ocean floor off the coast, and a portion of proceeds supports organizations assisting Navy SEALs and their families.
The tequila is made at NOM 1414 in the southern Los Altos highlands of Jalisco by distiller Sergio Cruz. Blue Weber agave harvested at six to eight years is slow-cooked 48 to 50 hours in 20-ton masonry ovens, roller-milled, fermented without fibers for up to 200 hours in open-air stainless steel cisterns while Baroque music plays, and double distilled in copper pot stills with deep well water. Batches are small, individually numbered and hand-labeled, with no additives.
The range currently comprises an 80-proof Blanco, released in successive waves, and an American oak-rested Reposado, plus a limited Navy SEAL Foundation edition of the Blanco. Browse our full Emerald Spear collection with fast nationwide shipping delivered straight to your door.
