Fassbind is Switzerland's oldest distillery, founded in 1846 in Oberarth at the foot of the Rigi mountain and still run by the Fassbind family. It is famous for its fruit eaux-de-vie, distilled twice in the traditional way from Rigi raspberries, Valais Williams pears and cherries, and rested for at least two years in stainless steel in the distillery's historic cellars. The Les Vieilles Barriques range takes those spirits a step further with 14 to 18 months in oak and a finish with the house-made Bonificateur for jammy, gently sweet fruit brandies.
