First Sight is a certified-organic label launched in early 2024 by Ackley Brands, a family-owned Seattle wine company, with a simple goal: make organic Paso Robles wine approachable rather than precious. The First Sight Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon comes from CCOF-certified organic, high-elevation vineyards in the Paso Robles AVA farmed without synthetic chemicals or pesticides, using solar power and electric equipment, and holding Sustainability in Practice certification. It is aged in a mix of French and American oak, which adds cedar and vanilla, and bottled at around 13.5% ABV in lighter glass with no foil capsule, a TCA-free cork and FSC-certified paper labels. In the glass it is full-bodied with deep tannic structure and layered aromatics of black currant, boysenberry and tobacco framed by barrel spice.
