Geometric Gin comes from the Geometric Drinks Company in the Western Cape of South Africa. The name and the Art Deco bottle nod to the structure and balance found in nature, and that idea runs through the whole project: a small number of carefully chosen botanicals built on an unusually good base spirit. It is a gin that treats South Africa's wine country and indigenous fynbos as its starting point rather than copying a London Dry template.

Geometric Cape Dry Gin is distilled from a neutral spirit made from Cape grapes by the acclaimed Mullineux winery in the Swartland, which gives the gin a soft, silky texture that grain-based gins rarely match. That spirit is redistilled with eight botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica, cardamom, cinnamon, lemon peel, orange peel and buchu, an indigenous fynbos shrub with a minty, blackcurrant-like aroma that gives the gin its distinctly South African accent. Bottled at 86 proof, it shows a spice-forward nose of cardamom and pepper, a palate of piney juniper, buchu, bergamot and currant with eucalyptus and cinnamon behind, and a dry, moderately warm finish. It makes a complex dry Martini with a twist and pairs beautifully with tonic.
