Jarvis Estate was founded by William and Leticia Jarvis, who bought 1,320 acres in the Vaca Mountains east of Napa in 1984 and planted hillside vineyards in 1986 at roughly 1,000 feet above the valley floor. Their winery, finished in 1991, was the first in the United States to put the entire winemaking process underground: 45,000 square feet of caves blasted into the mountain, complete with a subterranean waterfall and a constant 61-degree temperature. Founding winemaker Dimitri Tchelistcheff, son of the legendary Andre, set the house style.

The Jarvis Estate Cave Fermented Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is fermented and aged entirely in those caves, where the team favors new French oak, often in half-size barrels, for intense ripe dark fruit, cigar box, graphite and cedar over firm, polished tannins. The Jarvis Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is reserved for lots the winemaker considers truly exceptional: 100% Cabernet from the best estate blocks, aged about 25 months in 100% new French Haute Futaie oak, with dark Bing cherry and black plum on a brooding, long palate. Both ship in a wood box.

Jarvis is mountain-grown Napa Cabernet from one of the valley's most singular estates. Browse our full Jarvis collection with fast nationwide shipping delivered straight to your door.
