Kilinga is a family-owned, single-estate bacanora distillery founded in 2018 in Alamos, Sonora, by rancher and farmer Rodrigo Bojorquez Bours, who serves as its maestro bacanorero and named the brand after his mother's childhood nickname. Bacanora is the protected agave spirit of Sonora, and Kilinga grows every plant it distills on the family ranch, raising seedlings from its strongest native agaves in a nursery rather than harvesting wild stock.
The house works seed to bottle with Agave angustifolia pacifica. Piñas are roasted four to six days over cured mesquite in underground clay-and-volcanic-stone ovens, crushed with a tahona, fermented with a local yeast in a temperature-controlled room and double distilled in steel-and-copper pot stills, then rested at least six months in steel vats. The brand uses no additives, and every bottle is numbered and signed. Its Silvestre earned Best in Show Unaged White Spirit at the 2024 New York World Spirits Competition, and Kilinga was named Distillery of the Year at the 13th New York International Spirits Competition.
The range runs from the young-agave Silvestre and mature capón Blanco to a multi-cask Reposado and a small-batch Añejo aged in ex-red-wine French oak. Browse our full Kilinga collection with fast nationwide shipping delivered straight to your door.
