Nurseryman is the newest Cabernet Sauvignon from the Wagner family of Caymus Vineyards, the Rutherford clan that has been farming Napa Valley since the 1850s and making Caymus Cabernet since 1972. The name honors Frank Emmolo, grandfather of Jenny Wagner, whose Emmolo Nursery supplied grafted grapevines to a generation of Napa growers and helped plant many of the valley's benchmark vineyards.

The Nurseryman Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon draws on Cabernet grown on some of Napa Valley's best Cabernet soils, selected with the same eye for site that drives Caymus, and it is made in the family's signature style: extended hang time for full phenolic ripeness, then aging in French oak to round the tannins. At 14.9% ABV it is unapologetically rich, layered and textured, with blackberry, black cherry, cocoa, vanilla and a touch of dried herb, dense but velvety tannins and a long, plush finish. Caymus fans will recognize the house style immediately, with a slightly different vineyard footprint and a story rooted in the family's own history.
