Piñaq (pronounced "peen-yak") started with a burned-out pharmacist on vacation. Marina Yusupova was working 13-hour shifts when she and her husband Gabriel visited St. Barts and were served a cocktail inside a carved-out pineapple — and decided the whole experience belonged in a bottle. Two and a half years of development later, the woman-owned brand launched in 2019 in partnership with the founders of 3 Kilos Vodka, distilled and bottled in Holland. The packaging is the calling card: a patented pineapple-shaped bottle made from recycled materials, whose leafy top unscrews and reattaches to the base as a pedestal, turning it into a display piece. What's inside is a genuine spirits blend rather than a syrup — French VSOP Cognac and five-times-distilled Dutch wheat vodka form the base for the Original, flavored with passion fruit, pineapple, and honey at 17% ABV. Rosé and Blue follow the same formula with different fruit profiles, and Colada swaps in Jamaican rum and fresh Dutch cream for a ready-to-pour piña colada. Everything is gluten-free and non-GMO (Colada aside, it's dairy-free too). Built to be poured over ice on a hot day, mixed into tropical cocktails, or, honestly, bought partly for the bottle — customers say the packaging alone is worth the price.
