Distillerie Bologne is the oldest operating distillery in Guadeloupe, set in Basse-Terre at the foot of La Soufrière volcano on an estate first settled by the de Bologne family in the 17th century. Jean-Antoine Amé-Noël, a free man of color, bought the plantation in 1830 and became the island's first major Black landowner; rum production under the Bologne name began in 1887, and the Sargenton-Callard family has run the house since 1930.

Bologne makes rhum agricole exclusively, distilling fresh-pressed cane juice from roughly 150 hectares of estate cane, including the rare black cane it alone still grows in Guadeloupe, through a copper Créole column still. White rum is about 85% of production, while aged rums mature in a semi-buried cellar of some 2,000 oak barrels under the Guadeloupe geographical indication.

The range spans the 50% Blanc, single-variety Black Cane, and aged VO, VSOP, XO and Réserve Spéciale, the last a blend of four-year-plus rums from ex-Cognac French oak. Browse our full Rhum Bologne collection with fast nationwide shipping delivered straight to your door.
