Sheringham Distillery got its start in 2015, when husband-and-wife team Jason and Alayne MacIsaac built a distillery in their garage in Shirley, B.C. — a small Southern Vancouver Island town that was actually named Sheringham back in 1846, before postal regulations shortened it to fit on a stamp. That sense of place drives everything they make: local winged kelp, Vancouver Island botanicals, and even a signature sailboat embossed on every bottle, honoring a historic schooner called "Favorite" that once sailed these waters. The lineup centers on four gins — flagship Seaside (crowned World's Best Contemporary Gin at the 2019 World Gin Awards), the cherry blossom-and-yuzu Beacon, the nettle-and-oakmoss Raincoast, and a classic London Dry — alongside a small-batch liqueur collection spanning lemon, rhubarb, coffee, and chocolate. With more than 20 awards, a 2024 Business of the Year honor from the Sooke Region Chamber, and status as the official gin of the NHL's Seattle Kraken, Sheringham has built real credibility well beyond the island it calls home.
