Smuggler's Reserve is a line of sourced Caribbean rums from Infinity Spirits, an Amsterdam-based blender that does what the great Dutch and British rum merchants did for centuries: buy good rum from good distilleries, blend it for balance, and bottle it under one honest label at a price that lets bars pour it. The sourcing is the point. The Jamaican is a blend of aged pot and column rums from Worthy Park, Monymusk, Hampden, and New Yarmouth, four of the island's five working distilleries. The Jamaican Overproof White is unaged Worthy Park at 126 proof, a ready stand-in for Wray & Nephew. The Barbados 8 Year Old is distilled at Foursquare, aged eight years in the tropics, and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, a spec that costs three times as much under the distillery's own name. Alongside those are the Panama and Barbados blends, the Latin-style Forbidden Blend from the Dominican Republic, a 100-proof Pure Cane rum made from fresh cane juice, and Navy 151, the dark overproof built for tiki floats and flaming drinks. Nothing here is precious. It's a working range for people who mix a lot of rum drinks and want the real thing in the glass.
