Templeton Rye takes its name from the small Iowa town whose bootleggers made a rye so respected during Prohibition that Al Capone was said to prefer it. The modern brand launched in 2006 with a 95% rye whiskey and opened its own distillery in Templeton, Iowa in 2018. Templeton's 4 Year is one of the softest, most approachable ryes on the market at 80 proof, and the 6 Year adds depth and a little more oak. Both are made without added flavoring.
