Tycoon is the spirits brand owned and produced by Earl "E-40" Stevens, the Vallejo, California rapper, entrepreneur and longtime wine and spirits investor. Rather than licensing his name, Stevens built Tycoon as a house label, launching with cognac sourced and bottled in the protected Cognac appellation of western France and later extending the brand into vodka and sparkling wine.

The cognac range is deliberately tight: Tycoon VS, with the youngest eau-de-vie aged at least two years in French oak, and Tycoon VSOP, aged a minimum of four years. Both are distilled from Ugni Blanc, bottled at 40% ABV in a heavy decanter-style bottle, and both earned 93 points from Wine Enthusiast, an unusual result for a celebrity-backed label at this price.

Stylistically Tycoon leans fruit-forward and polished rather than heavily oaked. The VS shows peach, apricot, vine flowers, creamy caramel and cocoa with a clove and black pepper finish; the VSOP deepens into confit peach, plum, gingerbread, molasses and vanilla oak with a long, gently sweet finish.
