XOXO is a Pineau des Charentes label from the Cognac region of western France, brought to the US by importer Heavenly Spirits, a specialist in French artisan spirits. The brand takes the region's traditional aperitif wine and presents it in a modern, approachable package aimed at drinkers who know Cognac but have not yet met its lighter, sweeter cousin.

Pineau des Charentes is a mistelle: fresh grape must from the Cognac vineyards is blended with Cognac eau-de-vie from the same estate, aged at least one year and at least 60% alcohol, at roughly three parts juice to one part spirit. The Cognac halts fermentation and preserves the grape's natural sugar. White Pineau must then rest at least twelve months in barrel and red at least eight, and every batch is bottled in the region and approved by an official tasting panel. XOXO blends aged Cognac into Charentes grape must in this classic way.

The range consists of a Blanc, described by the importer with fresh grape, pear, white peach and honey, and a Rouge with ripe red berries, cherry and warm spice, both meant to be served chilled, over ice, or in a tonic highball.
