100 Años Blanco Tequila
100 Años Blanco is the unaged tequila from Casa Sauza, the house founded by Don Cenobio Sauza in 1873 in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, and named for the hundred years of family tequila-making the brand had behind it when it launched. It is produced at La Perseverancia, NOM 1102, the same distillery behind Sauza and Hornitos, where blue Weber agave is cooked, crushed and fermented before double distillation in column stills, then bottled clear and bright at 40% ABV without any time in wood. Made with blue agave rather than 100 percent agave, it is built as a value mixing tequila: Sauza describes a fresh, herbal nose with cooked agave and citrus, a light, clean palate with white pepper and a hint of sweetness, and a short, crisp finish that disappears into lime and salt. That profile is exactly what a pitcher of margaritas, a paloma or a ranch water wants, and at this price it is the bottle to keep in the well for parties, game days and Taco Tuesdays without touching the sipping tequila. It comes in the brand's tall glass bottle with the blue agave medallion and navy cap, 750ml, natural cork. A no-nonsense Jalisco blanco from one of the oldest names in tequila.
