It comes from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, the oldest operating distillery in the town, running on the site since 1879 and now part of Sazerac, made from the house high-rye mash bill of roughly 75% corn, 15% rye, and 10% malted barley that gives every 1792 its distinctive spice. Where the flagship Small Batch is blended from many barrels for consistency, Single Barrel is deliberately unblended: each bottle carries the individual profile of the barrel it came from, which means subtle variation from one to the next and a more concentrated version of the house style.
