Headliner is New Riff's first supergroup blend — anchored by the distillery's very first bourbon, aged a decade — 65% bourbon, 30% rye, and 5% single malt at 110.5 proof, with proceeds going to local charities. Ken Lewis built New Riff in Newport, Kentucky in 2014 on the Cincinnati riverfront, and by 2024 the first barrels had turned ten; Headliner marries that ten-year bourbon with New Riff rye and single malt in proportions that mirror the flagship bourbon mashbill — 65/30/5 — as a blended whiskey, and bottles at 110.5 proof, non-chill-filtered, in a limited 2024 release. The house notes: rye spice, the mellow warmth of long barrel aging, and a hint of dark fruit. Expect the New Riff high-rye signature — pepper, savory spice, butterscotch — with the ten-year bourbon's oak and dried fruit underneath and the malt adding a biscuity roundness, at a proof that carries all of it through a long, warm finish.
