Selección de 1146 is ArteNOM's añejo, made by Enrique Fonseca at La Tequileña — the Tequila-town distillery behind Fuenteseca and Cimarrón, and one of the most respected agave growers in Jalisco. ArteNOM required a change in Mexican law to exist: Jake Lustig, an American raised in Oaxaca who's imported and written about agave spirits his whole adult life, asked his favorite producers of blanco, reposado, and añejo to make special batches showcasing their mastery of each style, with each bottle named for the NOM of the house that made it. NOM 1146 is Fonseca's distillery in the Tequila Valley, where he distills in a combination of pot and column stills from agave grown on his own highland and valley estates; the 1146 Añejo is 100% blue Weber agave aged in ex-bourbon oak for the añejo term, bottled at 40% ABV with no additives.
