California Coast marries two of 10th Street's own award-winning single malts, STR and the peated Distiller's Cut, with two pot-still light whiskies sourced from the old Seagram's plant in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, and bottles the result at 84 proof.
10th Street describes a color of lightly oaked Chardonnay, a nose of American oak, stewed stone fruit, vanilla custard and coconut cream with a whiff of sea air, a palate of panna cotta, light campfire embers and heathered honey, and a finish of glazed donut and lime candy with a silky mouthfeel. The Beverage Testing Institute scored it 94 points, which 10th Street says is the highest rating ever given to an American blended whisky. A gentle touch of peat smoke and a soft, creamy texture make it a great introduction to the distillery and a lovely highball whisky.
