1940 Tequila Campo Azul Reposado
1940 Tequila Campo Azul Reposado comes from Casa Campo Azul in Jesús María, in the red-earth highlands of Jalisco, founded on the vision of Don Ricardo López, who was born in 1940 and inherited his father's knowledge of cultivating blue agave. The 1940 label honors his birth year and a family legacy of tequila made the traditional way.
The agave is grown seven to eight years, slow-cooked in masonry ovens for 30 hours plus a 24-hour rest, fermented for 78 hours, and double distilled in stainless steel before resting in American white oak barrels in the family cellars. The reposado adds soft vanilla, caramel, and light oak spice to the bright cooked agave and pepper of the blanco, finishing smooth at 40% ABV. Sip it neat, over ice, or in an elevated Margarita. This 750 ml bottle is a highland classic.
