5 Sentidos Arroqueño Tío Pedro is a small-batch agave spirit from Oaxaca made from wild-harvested Arroqueño, a massive, slow-growing agave that can take 20 years or more to mature and is among the most prized varieties in mezcal. Cinco Sentidos bottles spirits produced by traditional mezcaleros using the ancestral methods of their villages, and it labels them as destilados de agave rather than mezcal so the producers are not bound by the rules of the denomination.
This batch was distilled by maestro Tío Pedro from agave roasted in an earthen pit, crushed by hand, fermented naturally, and distilled in small clay or copper stills, then bottled at 47% ABV without dilution or additives. Expect deep roasted agave, earth, green herbs, and a long, mineral finish. Sip it neat from a copita to appreciate it. This 750 ml bottle is a rare treat for agave enthusiasts.
