5to Mes Añejo is the top of the 5to Mes range, a 100% blue agave tequila from Jalisco, Mexico, aged for two years in French oak barrels, an unusual choice in a category dominated by ex-bourbon American oak. French oak gives the añejo a drier, more elegant profile with finer tannin and spice.
It pours a bright golden color with an aroma of dry oak, cooked agave, and soft fruity and floral notes. On the palate, gentle dry cooked agave is combined with a strong oak backbone balanced by vanilla, dried fruits, and nuts, ending with a strong yet smooth finish at 40% ABV.
