Abre Ojos Reposado is a 100% blue Weber agave tequila from Santa Cruz in the town of Tequila, Jalisco, the birthplace of the spirit. Abre Ojos, "open your eyes," is a small brand built on traditional production and honest pricing, and the reposado is rested for up to six months in American oak whiskey barrels.
It opens with deep, rich agave aromas and delivers flavors of salted caramel, vanilla, chocolate, and banana with a slight essence of oak, followed by a very pleasant lingering finish at 40% ABV. The whiskey barrels give it a rounder, sweeter profile than many reposados without burying the agave. Sip it neat or over ice, or use it for a richer Margarita or a Tequila Old Fashioned.
