Argiolas Tremontis Mirto Liqueur
Argiolas Tremontis Mirto is the classic Sardinian myrtle liqueur from Argiolas, the family winery and distillery founded in the early 1900s in Serdiana, near Cagliari. Mirto is Sardinia's national digestivo, and Argiolas makes it the traditional way: wild myrtle berries are hand-picked in the island's scrubland, macerated in alcohol to extract their color and aroma, then sweetened and bottled at 30% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The liqueur pours a deep ruby red with an intense aroma of myrtle berries, somewhere between juniper, blueberry and rosemary. The palate is balanced and slightly sweet with a pleasant herbal bitterness and a warm, aromatic finish. Serve it ice-cold after dinner the Sardinian way, sip it over ice, or use it in a Negroni variation or a spritz with soda. A true taste of Sardinia.
