Bittermens Boston Bittahs are a peculiar and delightful combination of citrus and chamomile from Bittermens, the craft bitters company founded by Avery and Janet Glasser that helped launch the modern bitters revival. They were created to celebrate both the return of summer and the founders' return to Boston after 14 years away, and the recipe is citrus, citrus, citrus, and more citrus, supported by a heavy dose of chamomile.
Bittermens says it smells like summer, and it does. A dash belongs in any drink you would rather sip outdoors on a warm night: a gin fizz, a whiskey sour, a bright tropical drink, or a Tom Collins. They work extremely well with pisco and, surprisingly, with Scotch. Bottled at 44% ABV in a 5 oz dasher, one bottle seasons dozens of cocktails and is a favorite for spring and summer bars.
