Campo Azul Selecto Extra Añejo is the top of the Selecto range from Casa Campo Azul in Jesús María, in the highlands of Jalisco. The family sets aside its best batches of 100% blue Weber agave tequila to be specially aged for 40 months in a cellar with an optimum environment of temperature and humidity, in a combination of ex-bourbon and port barrels.
The long aging shows in its dark color and great character: rich cooked agave layered with caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak from the bourbon barrels and dried fruit and a wine-like sweetness from the port casks, with a long, velvety finish at 40% ABV. Sip it neat from a snifter after dinner. This 750 ml bottle is an outstanding value for an extra añejo and a great gift for a tequila lover.
