Dansk Mjod Vikingernes Mjod Mead
Dansk Mjød is a family-owned meadery in Billund, in central Jutland, founded in 1994 and run today by Michael Brogaard. It brews its meads from honey and natural ingredients on brewing equipment it developed itself, combining traditional methods with a modern approach to quality, and its range now runs to more than a dozen meads, from the classic Gl. Dansk Mjød to barrel-aged and Christmas bottlings. Vikingernes Mjød, "the Vikings' mead," is one of the house's core bottlings, brewed from pure natural honey with selected herbs and spices, and bottled at 19% ABV. Dansk Mjød gives several ways to serve it. Slightly chilled in a wine glass, it works as an aperitif; poured over ice with fresh fruit, it becomes a summer drink; at room temperature in a port glass, it is a dessert wine; and heated gently, without boiling, and served in a mug, it becomes a winter warmer in the spirit of mulled wine. A natural choice for a holiday table.
